Subject:          Consider Amendment to California-American Water Company’s (Cal-Am) Main Water Distribution System to Increase the Production Limit by Thirteen (13) Acre-Feet Annually to Enable Cal-Am to Produce the City of Seaside’s Banked Water Credits from Seaside’s In-Lieu Groundwater Storage Program for and Supply at the Ascent Project (APNs: 012-191-001, -002, -003, -004, -030, -031, -033, -034, and -035)

The Monterey Peninsula Water Management District Hearing Officer will consider Application #WDS-20240223CAL received on February 23, 2024, by the Ascent Seaside, LLC, a Delaware Limited Liability Company to amend the Cal-Am’s Main System to increase the Production Limit by Thirteen (13) Acre-Feet Annually by California-American Water Company for a ten-building workforce rental housing development by the Ascent Seaside, LLC, a Delaware Limited Liability Company.

MPWMD staff recommends approval of the application with Conditions of Approval that comply with the minimum standards specified in MPWMD Rule 22-C and required in Rule 22-D, and Special Conditions related to this application. Subject:        Consider Amendment of the “Wolter Properties Water Distribution System to add five (5) Connections for five Accessory Dwelling Units (MPWMD Permit #M21-01-L3-AMD2

The Monterey Peninsula Water Management District Hearing Officer will consider Application #WDS-20240201WOL submitted on February 1, 2024. The proposed project is to add five Connections for Accessory Dwelling Units. The System Limit of 29.462 Acre-Feet Annually remains the same. The proposed amendment would set the Expansion Capacity Limit (number of Connections) at 14 Connections.

MPWMD staff recommends approval of the application with Conditions of Approval that comply with the minimum standards specified in MPWMD Rule 22-C, based on evidence in the record and the mandatory conditions required in Rule 22-D.  The complete information package for this public hearing, including Findings and Conditions of Approval, is available here.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District (MPWMD) Board of Directors will conduct a public hearing on the Draft 2022 MPWMD Annual Report on March 20, 2023 at 6:00 PM.  The MPWMD invites any person interested in the District’s activities in the protection and augmentation of the water supplies of the District to review the report and comment. Copies of the Draft 2022 Annual Report can be obtained free of charge by calling the District at (831) 658-5610 or by e-mail at joel@mpwmd.net.
