Jeanne Byrne is a 4th generation Californian, born and raised in Napa, CA moving to the Monterey Peninsula in 1977 and settling in Pacific Grove in 1977.
She is a graduate of California Polytechnic Institute, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Architecture and completed a post-graduate year year in architecture in Florence, Italy studying the classics.
In 1982, Byrne opened her own successful architectural firm in Pacific Grove which she continues to operate today.
Byrne was elected Mayor of Pacific Grove in 1992 serving for one term and has been appointed to numerous City of Pacific Grove Boards and Commissions including: Building Standards Committee, Historic Resources, Business Improvement District and Architectural Review which she chaired. Currently, she sits on the City’s Planning Commission.
Byrne is also a two-time governor’s appointee to the Monterey County Fair Board. She was elected at the Division 4 representative to the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District in 2011.
