SUMMARY: On November 19, 2020 District staff, City of Monterey staff, and the District’s Sacramento consultants (JEA & Associates) met with representatives of the California Senate Housing Committee and staff for a California Senator who provides leadership on housing issues. As a result of that meeting, District staff and JEA decided to pull back its effort and wait until the new local delegation, primarily newly elected State Senator John Laird, was seated and back to work in Sacramento. A revised schedule was presented to the Water Demand Committee at its December 3, 2020 meeting.
Next steps and a revised schedule will be discussed at the February 4th Water Demand Committee meeting.
