Call to Order

The meeting was called order at 9:00 am in the Water Management District conference room.

Action Items

 

1.

Consider Adoption of August 21, 2014 Committee Meeting Minutes

 

On a motion by Byrne and second of Pendergrass, the minutes were adopted unanimously on a vote of 3 – 0 by Pendergrass, Byrne and Brower.  No comments were directed to the committee on this item.

 

 

2.

Consider Recommendation of Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Source Waters and Water Recycling

 

On a motion by Byrne and second of Pendergrass, the committee recommended that the Board of Directors approve the MOU along with any non-substantive changes that may be required.  The motion was approved unanimously on a vote of 3 – 0 by Byrne, Pendergrass and Brower.  No comments were directed to the committee during the public comment period on this item.

 

 

Discussion Items

 

3.

Receive and Discuss the Kennedy/Jenks Consultants Report “Evaluation of the Deep Water Desalination Project Costs

 

The committee received the report.

 

 

 

4.

Discuss IRWM Drought Round Grant Application

 

Hampson reported that the Department of Water Resources (DWR) will announce grant recipients by September 19, 2014.  The local IRWM is on the list to receive grant funds, but confirmation from DWR has not yet been received.

 

 

5.

Update on Local Project Funding Grant Program

 

Stoldt reported that the grant applications have been distributed, and the deadline for submission is October 1, 2014.  He expects to receive applications from the City of Pacific Grove and the Monterey County Fairgrounds, and possibly from the Pebble Beach Company for a project that would supply the Del Monte Golf Course with recycled water.  The Monterey Peninsula Airport District may submit an application in the next grant funding cycle for a project related to use of wells on their property.

 

Suggestions from the Public on Water Supply Project Alternatives
