Action Items

1.         Receive Minutes of October 27, 2008Committee Meetings

On a motion by Director Doyle and second by Director Brower, the minutes were received unanimously on a vote of 3 – 0.

2.         Update on Promoting the Reuse of Rainwater, Greywater and Stormwater

The committee members agreed that a joint meeting with Monterey County Environmental Health Department staff should be scheduled to discuss current regulations regarding water reuse, and development of new regulations that would allow expanded reuse of water sources.  Before the joint meeting is scheduled, District Counsel should present for committee review, a matrix that would list reuse categories such as surface irrigation, subsurface irrigation and toilet flushing, and the potential concerns associated with each category.  The matrix would also identify reuse considerations for residential, commercial and hospitality industry projects.  District staff should contact jurisdictions that allow greywater reuse systems and find out what their regulations are, and the process that was followed to achieve approval from their governing bodies.  It was suggested that jurisdictions to contact would be the counties of Santa Barbara, Contra Costa and Marin.  In addition, staff should review SB 1258 regarding standards for the construction, installation, and alteration of greywater systems for indoor and outdoor uses.

3.         Set Next Meeting Date

The committee agreed to meet on February 3, 2009 at 3 PM.

Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 2:40 PM.
