SUMMARY:   The purpose of this agenda item is for the committee to be apprised of the development of Ordinance No. 132, which would grant the City of Sand City a legal entitlement to 206 acre-fee/year (AFY) of the water produced by its proposed, 300 AFY capacity desalination plant, officially called the Sand City Water Supply Project.  No action is required of the committee.  This item is for informational purposes only.  District staff will respond to questions about the draft ordinance at the January 8, 2007 meeting.

The first reading version of Draft Ordinance No. 132 was approved by the Board of Directors, with modifications, on November 19, 2007. The staff report reviewed by the Board of Directors is enclosed as Attachment 1, and it includes Draft Ordinance No. 132 (Exhibit 14-B).  The Board considered second reading of the ordinance on December 10, 2007, and continued the item to January 24, 2008 so that a full Board would be present to decide this issue.
