SUMMARY:    Attached as Exhibit 1-A is draft text for an informational newsletter to be published and distributed by the District. Staff proposes that the newsletter be produced according to the timeline attached as Exhibit 1-B, and mailed the first week in January 2010.  The committee should decide if the newsletter will be mailed to all residents in the District, or limited to customers within the California American Water service area.  The final layout of the newsletter including graphics will be presented for review at the November 12, 2009 Public Outreach Committee meeting.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  District staff recommends that the Committee review the draft newsletter text, provide comments at the meeting, and give direction on the scope of the mailing.

 

IMPACT TO STAFF/RESOURCES:  The MPWMD Fiscal Year 2009-2010 Budget contains $20,000 for production of a newsletter under Objective 3-1-2.   Details on the production costs will be provided at the October 14, 2009 Committee meeting.
