The most recent activity regarding the proposal to remove San Clemente Dam and reroute a section of the Carmel River to San Clemente Creek was a signing ceremony for the San Clemente Dam Removal Collaboration Statement on January 11, 2010 at Mission Ranch.  Rob MacLean, President of California American Water, hosted the ceremony.  Other speakers included U.S. Representative Sam Farr, representatives of State Senator Abel Maldonado and Assemblyman Bill Monning, and Monterey County Supervisor Potter.  District Chair Regina Doyle was one of the twelve signatories of the document, on behalf of the District.  Others signing the document include a number of heads of federal, state, and local agencies, and Rob MacLean.  The agenda for the signing ceremony is attached as Exhibit 8-A, and the Collaboration Statement is attached as Exhibit 8-B.  Over the past several years, District staff have provided information and participated in various technical review committees regarding this project.
