The committee was formed in March 2013 by agreement between the Water Management District, Monterey Peninsula Regional Water Authority, County of Monterey and California American Water to ensure efficient and effective public input into the development and operation of the Monterey Peninsula Water Supply Project. The Water Management District provides administrative support for the committee.
