SUMMARY:   The District received the Final Report of the 2009 Monterey County Civil Grand Jury on January 11, 2010.  A copy of the section in the report dealing with water problems in Monterey County is included as Exhibit 1-A, and contains findings and recommendations concerning the District.  The complete report is available at http://www.monterey.courts.ca.gov/Documents/GrandJury/Reports/2009/2009_Grand_Jury_Final_Report.pdf.

 

The District is required to submit a formal written response on the relevant findings and recommendations in the report to the presiding Judge of the Superior Court, Honorable Adrienne M. Grover, on or before April 10, 2010.  The District’s response must follow mandatory response requirements including whether or not the District agrees or disagrees with the findings and how the recommendations will be implemented.  The District’s proposed response is included as Exhibit 1-B.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  Staff recommends that the Board approve the draft response to the Final Report of the 2009 Monterey County Civil Grand Jury and transmit the final response to the presiding Judge of the Superior Court, Honorable Adrienne M. Grover, on or before April 10, 2010.
