A Resolution of
the Board of Directors of the
Monterey Peninsula
Water Management District
Amending Table 4
of Rule 25.5:
High efficiency Appliance
credits
WHEREAS District Rule 25.5.4.b. Water Use Credits and On-Site Water Credits allows changes to Table 4: Ultra-Low Consumption Appliance Credits; and
WHEREAS MPWMD Ordinance Nos. 140 and 141 adopted revised standards for Water Conservation devices such as High Efficiency Clothes Washers and High Efficiency Dishwashers, including use of Energy Star and Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) data to ensure MPWMD would have consistent definitions with other organizations; and
WHEREAS the District will heretofore use an Energy Star Certification with a maximum of 5.8 gallons per cycle; and
WHEREAS the District will heretofore use a Water Factor for High Efficiency Clothes Washers, which is the national standard for determining water efficiency; and
WHEREAS
the “Water Factor” is a
rating of water efficiency established by the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy through the
Energy Star program; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Directors of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District resolves that District Rule 25.5.4.b. Water Use Credits and On-Site Water Credits, Table 4: High Efficiency Appliance Credits shall be amended to reflect the revisions to definitions for High Efficiency Toilets (HETs), High Efficiency Dishwashers, and High Efficiency Clothes Washers as shown on Attachment 1.
