Discussion Items

2.         Review Proposed Revisions to Regulation XIV, Water Conservation

The committee discussed the proposed regulation and asked that additional background information be provided for the September 3, 2009 discussion by the Policy and Technical Advisory committees such as:  (a) bold text of new or amended rules; (b) provide source for Best Management Practices; (c) distribute list of approved water saving fixtures and the associated water credit; (d) quantify the amount of water savings that could occur through installation of new water saving fixtures; and (e) determine the frequency of use of suggested water fixtures.  Ottmar, Matarazzo and Conroy expressed opposition to the proposal that water use credits would not be available if installation of a water using fixture is mandatory.  No objections were raised to establishment of updated water conservation standards.
