RESOLUTION NO. 2008-14
A Resolution of the Board of Directors
of the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District
Authorizing Staff To Apply for Public Assistance
Funding from the
Federal Emergency Management Agency and the
and Designating the District’s Agents
WHEREAS, the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and
Emergency Assistance Act of 1988 provides federal relief and the Natural
Disaster Assistance Act provides state relief to public agencies suffering
losses during natural disasters; and
WHEREAS, the Monterey Peninsula Water Management
District operates and maintains facilities in the Carmel River watershed,
Cities of the Monterey Peninsula, and other unincorporated areas in Monterey
County within the boundary of the District (hereto collectively referred to as
within the District boundaries) that are susceptible to damages as a result of
natural disasters; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of
Directors authorizes the General Manager (currently Darby W. Fuerst), or
District Engineer (currently Andrew M. Bell),
to act as the District's designated agents in all matters pertaining to such
natural disasters, and declares its intent to apply for public assistance from the
Federal Emergency Management Agency and the California State Office of
Emergency Services to repair, restore, or replace projects and facilities within
the District boundaries that are damaged as a result of natural disasters.
On
a motion by Director ___, and second by Director ____, the foregoing resolution
is duly adopted this 20th day of October 2008, by the following votes:
