Action Items

1.                  Receive Minutes of May 9, 2007 Committee Meeting

On a motion by Director Markey and second by Director Pendergrass, the minutes were received on a vote of 3 – 0.

2.         Review and Comment on Proposal to Modify the Rebate Program to Include ET Irrigation Controllers and Adjust Existing Rebate Amounts

The committee agreed with the staff recommendation on establishment of increased rebate amounts.  In addition, the committee reached consensus on the following modifications to the Rebate Program:  (1) continue to grant rebates for installation of 1.6 gallon toilets; (2) the rebate amount for washing machines that use less than 18 gallons of water should be increased to $200; (3) washing machines that use between 18.1 gallons and 28 gallons should qualify for a rebate of $150; (4) the rebate for a zero-water consumption urinal should be increased to $200; (5) installation of a recirculating hot water system would be eligible for a $200 rebate; (6) a $100 rebate could be applied for each on-demand system installed, with a maximum of two units; and (7) any persons who retrofitted within 90 days of implementation of the new rules would be eligible to receive the increased rebate amount retroactively.  During the discussion, it was suggested that the District work with California American Water to publicize the rebates.
