DATE:            May 5, 2006

TO:                 Cynthia Schmidlin, Human Resources Analyst

FROM:           Joe Oliver, Water Resources Division Manager

SUBJECT:     Remedy of Deficiencies Noted in April 10, 2006 Safety Inspection Report

Cynthia,

Shown below are responses to items discussed in the March 1, 2006 safety inspection report, as requested in your April 10, 2006 memo.

NOTED PROBLEMS AND PROPOSED REMEDIES

1.8    General work sites.  One hydrologist office has a corner of the floor covered with his field equipment, blocking access to file cabinets.

Office was visited and equipment has been moved from file cabinet access area in the office.

1.9  Storage and equipment rooms.  The garage is still used for storage of unused equipment that needs disposal.

Much of the stored equipment was removed during the week of May 1.  A decision on remaining items that are not in current use related to Water Resources Division functions will be made by May 26.  These items may be disposed or relocated out of the common area of the garage.

1.15  Other.  One bookcase in Tom Lindberg’s office needs to be secured to the wall.

Arrangement will be made to get this secured by May 26.
