ACTION ITEMS

 

1.

Provide Policy Direction Regarding Proposition 50 Grant Applications

Action:  The Board will receive a staff presentation on a State grant program for funding "Integrated Water Management" planning and projects that are included in such plans.  The District may join with Monterey County Water Resources Agency, Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency, and Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments to apply for a grant to develop an Integrated Water Management Plan.  In addition, the District plans to apply for one or more grants to implement the Phase I Aquifer Storage and Recovery Project and to conduct environmental protection and enhancement, water conservation, and water quality projects within the District. Public comment will be received on this item. 

 

 

 

 

 

2.

Receive Staff Analysis of AB 1421 and Authorize Comment Letter be Sent to Assembly Members Laird and Salinas

Action:  The Board will review and discuss District staff’s analysis of this bill, which would require a specified portion of a future water supply project serving the communities in the District, to be allocated to affordable housing development.  The Board will also consider a proposed letter to be sent to Assembly Members Laird and Salinas on this bill, as well as authorize staff to take other appropriate actions to ensure that the District’s interests in this bill are addressed when it is considered in the State Legislature.  Public comment will be received on this item.
