Notes:

  1. Information shown is as provided by system owners and operators unless otherwise noted.
  2. Methods for reporting production are either Land Use (LU) or Water Meter (WM).

3.  The source areas are as follows:

AS1 – Upper Carmel Valley – San Clemente Dam to Esquiline Bridge

AS2 – Mid Carmel ValleyEsquiline Bridge to Narrows

AS3 – Lower Carmel Valley – Narrow to Via Mallorca Bridge

AS4 – Via Mallorca Bridge to Lagoon

SCB – Seaside Coastal Basin

CAC – Cachagua

CVU – Carmel Valley Upland

LSS – Laguna Seca Subarea

MIS – Peninsula, Carmel Highlands and San Jose Creek areas

  1. Cal-Am production includes 287.7 AF from San Clemente Reservoir, 3,507.0 AF from Seaside wells, and 11,076.0 AF from Carmel Valley wells and 20.57 AF from former Water West wells.
  2. Cal-Am delivery includes 12,909.76 AF for customers in its main system, 13.05 AF for Cal-Am customers in the former Rancho Fiesta Mutual area, and 157.27 AF for Cal-Am customers in the former Water West area.  Because water is delivered to the Rancho Fiesta area, but none has been produced there for over a decade, the 22 active connections there are now assigned to the Cal-Am total. The Cal-Am delivery value also includes 63.9 AF of water that was produced but used for backwash purposes, and 167.53 AF that was delivered to the Seaside injection well.  The amount of water that was produced for irrigation around the Carmel Valley wells and the amount of non-revenue water produced during Water Year 2003 are not available as of this writing.
  3. N.A. refers to data that are not available.
  4. Animal Farm, Chugach Well #2, and Hyles Water Distribution Systems were added during Water Year (WY) 2003.  Abadir (A), Abadir (C), Booth and Hidden Mesa were added in WY 2002.
  5. All water produced from Canada Woods Water Distribution Systems was for non-potable uses, i.e., temporary construction uses and irrigation.
  6. The names of Cachagua Road #1 and #2 were switched in Reporting Year 1999 to agree with records of the Monterey County Department of Health.  Older District records have the names of these two systems reversed.
  7. Production and delivery figures in italics were adjusted to account for reports that did not include data for the entire Water Year, or reported data for a longer period.
  8. Bishop Unit is operated by Cal-Am, acquired July 1999.
  9. Rancho Fiesta is operated by Cal-Am.  The delivered amount (13.05 AF) was all produced by the main Cal-Am system, so that amount has been accounted for in Cal-Am system deliveries.  The source of production was AS1 – AS4.
  10.  Hidden Hills was formerly referred to as Carmel Valley Mutual; annexed to Cal-Am in 1993.
  11.  The Ryan Ranch Unit is operated by Cal-Am.  In Water Year 2003, 25.8 AF were supplied from Cal-Am’s main system (Carmel Valley and Seaside) to Ryan Ranch.
  12. Production from the Monterra desalination plant was 35.97 AF.  Metered deliveries totaled 34.01 AF.  Unaccounted consumption from the desalination plant was 1.96 AF, or about 5% of production.
